Elly Hunt is a costume designer, craftsperson and stitcher currently working in the Chicago area.
She studied theatrical design and technology at the University of Texas at Arlington.
She is currently working as the Wardrobe Supervisor for Victory Gardens Theatre's Rightlynd. Her other recent credits include Managing the Costume shop for Creede Repertory Theatre's 2018 Summer season and Designing Abandoned Way Out West, The KID Show! at Creede Repetory Theatre.
Elly has been designing since her senior year of high school, working on tech for shows since her sophomore year of high school, and sewing and performing since elementary school. Inspirational artists and designers include Salvador Dali, Elsa Schiaparelli, Zuhair Murad, and Jean-Guy Lecat. Her true passion, however, lies in the collaborative process, whether that means making a designer's vision a reality, making a character "real" for an actor with their costume, or teaching new skills and creating opportunities for young artists; theatre is best done as a team.
